Curtin Co has been performing Concrete Rehab since the company started doing DOT work in the 1990’s. This type of work includes, full depth concrete patching repair of jointed and CRC concrete pavement slabs using very high early strength concrete.

The engineer on the project will evaluate the subgrade for failure and ask for replacing with select material and geosynthetic fabrics for soil stabilization thus ensuring a proper foundation for placing new concrete. Oversaw areas are epoxied to prevent cracking. Before concrete can be placed in the exposed jointed pavement, dowels are drilled and inserted into the existing concrete faces of all lateral cuts with epoxy allowing for proper bonding to adjacent concrete. Prior to placing concrete, the vertical exposed faces of the existing slabs shall be thoroughly cleaned of contaminates using wire brushing or other methods approved by the Engineer.  Finally concrete will be deposited within the slab replacement area in such manner as to require as little re-handing as possible, to prevent segregation of the mix.  The surface finish of the proposed concrete pavement will be a burlap drag finish and conform to the cross-section of adjacent pavement.
